Quick Notes
Prayer Request
I just received the following message from Zenobia:
" I have a prayer request. I have been helping care for my dad who has Alzheimer's and I'm doing the night shift. He was up on and off from 12a - 8:30a last night probably 25-30 times, and the same the night before. My sister/brother in law were here before then and it took 4 of us to cover the shifts around the clock. There is no way my mom can keep this up. I was almost physically sick by the time the morning came and finally was able to crash for a few hours. Pls pray that God will provide someone who is strong physically and caring/compassionate to help my mom overnight bc my friend King will not be available after Jan 30th. I need to find this person before I leave next Saturday. I also need to find more services for my dad via a social worker, etc. so lots of stuff to do.
Thanks so much!"
CSM Parent Social
It was discovered this morning that the next CSM Parent Social is next Sunday. Since this occurs during class time, we will not have any class next week.

The Mid-Week Update
The SPOT Christmas Party
...was a blast. Lots of fun and food was had by all, especially with Don and the mannequin! Watch for our next event, Browniepalooza 2013, in early February!
Quote of the Week
"If you can't see the sun you will be impressed with a street light. If you've never felt thunder and lightning you'll be impressed with fireworks. And if you turn your back on the greatness and majesty of God you'll fall in love with a world of shadows and short-lived pleasures." -John Piper
SPOT Camping Trip
...will be on 6/29-6/30/2012. This will not interfere with Breakaway for the youth. Looks like a great location will be to visit Alley Spring again. We can get the group campsite for just over $100 for up to 10 tents and up to 40 people (and our own restrooms!). With the Jack's Fork River nearby there can be fishing, canoeing, hiking, and swimming. For those who desire it, there is also either a few bed and breakfasts, or a hotel in town about 6 miles away. We will have to get an idea of who wants to go sometime in the next 4-5 weeks, as these camping spots tend to go quickly.
Treats
- 12/16 Perry
- 12/23 Rusty
- 12/30 open

- JT and Terresa's house should close in late Jan./early Feb. Pray for and easy transition and God's timing.

Last week we covered chapter 2 of the Story. This week we will be on chapter 3. By the way, wasn't that painting during the service awesome?
Service Opportunities
Please consider helping in one of our outreach events this next month. Just a few hours to show Christ's love through helping others. Those dates are:

- October 20th-A quick two hours or so helping at the Food Pantry.
New!!!
Our blog can now be read in a more simple format on your mobile device!!! Just use the usual link. Cool!!!

The Mid-Week Update..
Our lesson this week was more fun Bible quizzes to prepare us for the studt of The Story. Speaking of the Story, this week begins the first chapter. So be sure and have the first chapter read by Sunday!
Food Pantry
We sure could use a few volunteers...even if they are from other classes...for this service event. We will be working the Food Panty on Saturday, Oct. 20th from around 9:15 AM to 11:30 AM or so. Please consider helping for just these few hours and serve the needy.
Quote of the Week
"I have been all things unholy. If God can work through me, He can work through anyone." -Francis of Assisi
Root Beer Float Booth
Once again the Fall Festival is upon us. It will be happening on Oct. 6th. As usual, we will be hosting the Root Beer Float Booth. Since the money raised by the Festival and Car Show is being donated to the Missouri Baptist Children's Home, we have been asked to cover our own expenses. In this way we can best minister with the booth! We also need volunteers in the booth (We may have some help from some of the youth!). A sign up sheet and donation envelope will be in the weekly SPOT folder.
CSM Parent Social
There will be a CSM Parent Social on Oct. 21rst in the Rafters during our normal class time. It will be a great time to share and communicate! Since Don won't be there that Sunday as well, there will be no class that day. As a result, the sermon that Sunday will be of even more importance!
Snacks
- 9/16 Stanfield
- 9/23 Meinhardt
- 9/30 Hurt
Prayer Requests
- I ask that you keep me in your prayers as I am still recovering from shingles, and am still having difficulty from my recent bladder infection.

The Mid-Week Update
Well, we had a fun little quiz and lesson that Don gave us on knowing characters in the Bible to help prepare us for the upcoming Story!! In other news...
Food Pantry
We are still deserately in need of a few volunteers to help at this service event. We only need six or so. It will only involve about 4 hours on the morning of Saturday, October 20th. Please consider helping in this worth while cause!
Fall Festival and Car Show
The Fall Festival is going to be on Saturday, October 6th from 4-7 PM. We will do our usual Holy Cow Root Beer Float Boot. We will have two shifts. One from 3-6 PM, which will also help set up, and one from 5-8PM, which will also help tear down. Since the festival and show will be a benefit fot the Missouri Baptist Childrens Home, we have been asked to pick up the cost of our own supplies so as not to take away from the amount made for the Home. We will have both a sign up sheet, and a donation envelope in this week's SPOT folder.
CSM Parent Social
As you probably saw in the Parent Newsletter, there will be a CSM Parent Social on Sunday, October 21st during our class time from 11AM-12PM. This is right in the middle of the Story lessons so we might just have to cancel class depending on how many parents from class will be attending. We will probably have to double up on class material the week before. We will do it so that we can stay as current as possible with the sermons that will be matching the lessons.
Quote of the Week
"Our high and privileged calling is to do the will of God in the power of God for the glory of God." -J.I. Packer
